The 2011
Subaru Impreza WRX STI S206 NBR Challenge Package was released
by Subaru Tecnica International with a limited number of 300
to be sold through Subaru dealerships in Japan. The NBR Challenge
Package was released to commemorate the class win at 24 Hours
Nürburgring endurance race held in June.
Named as
the “crown of STi tuned cars” it comes with a lot
of extra performance additions especially designed for the S206
NBR to make it handle even better than the already great handling
of the WRX STI. It comes with an exclusively-made engine with
the weight balance between piston, connecting rod, and crankshaft
is optimized to enhance the rev feel.
Other additions
include a ball bearing turbocharger with an upgraded ECU (Engine
Control Unit) with STI tuning. The engine now delivers 235kW
"320hp" and 431N.m "44kg.m" in maximum torque,
all of which gives better accelerator response and with the
low to mid range torque increased gives the WRX STi S206 NBR
much superior driving capabilities.
On the exterior
the NBR has received more exclusively made parts including a
lower front spoiler, trunk spoiler, front fender outlet grille
and side vents all for improvement of aerodynamics. The interior
has more exclusively made parts including 'RECARO' racing bucket
seats, and seatbelts and a genuine leather-wrapped steering
wheel.
